Together with beautiful artisans from India, they have created a jacket made from vintage ‘Ralli Quilts’.

 

This Particular handstitched Kantha you are seeing in the back comes From the Rural’s of Pakistan, Hand crafted according to the Traditional taste of the Region.

It is said that this work along with ‘Kabeer Ralli’ work is a classic antique work of art and takes up to 500 days to complete. 

The handstitched work is created by the Saami Jogi people from Tharparkar, generating various kinds of handstitches. A local family in India has collected many Kantha quilts over the years and ofcourse the Pakistani Jogi is part of their collection.

 

The quilting tradition is vital to muslim, hindu and nomadic women from the desserts. Sitting on the floor without quilting frames, they create stunning quilts with thousands of minute stitches and embroidery patterns that have been passed down for centuries. This Ralli jacket is created by nomadic women in the desserts and than stitched into jackets in Jaisalmer, India.
